The highest engine capacity of a production car was 13 1/2  liters (824 cu), in the case of the Pierce-Arrow 6-66 Raceabout of 1912-18, the Peer less 6-60 of 1912-14 and the Fageol of 1918. The largest currently avail able is the V-8 engine of 500.1 cu in (8,195 cc), developing 235 bhp net, used in the 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood Eldorado.
